Jessica Sherman is Vice Chair and Principal of The Douglaston Companies, where she oversees strategy and execution across the firm’s integrated development, construction, and property management businesses: Douglaston Development, Levine Builders, and Clinton Management. In this role, she helps lead one of New York’s most active real estate organizations, with a portfolio spanning market-rate, mixed-income, and affordable communities across the city.
Since joining the company in 2016, Ms. Sherman has guided the firm’s affordable housing strategy, contributing to its pipeline of new construction and preservation projects and helping structure transactions that pair public and private capital to deliver high-quality housing for New Yorkers at a range of incomes. A recognized voice on affordable housing policy and development, she has been featured in Forbes and Madame Architect, and in 2025 was honored by BronxWorks at its Lifting Lives Gala for her impact on housing and social services in the Bronx.
Before joining Douglaston, Ms. Sherman was a Leadership Fellow at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, where she focused on regional infrastructure management and development. She serves on the Executive Board of the Citizens Housing and Planning Council and as a Committee Member of SheBuilds, supporting the next generation of women in development and construction.
Ms. Sherman holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, an M.Sc. in Social Policy from the University of Oxford, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
